Re: MJVO-3 venting air from the sides

The Clippard MJVO-3 is working as intended described by the manufacture. Under "Additional Information" on the product page it states "Exhaust-To atmosphere through holes in body.". https://www.clippard.com/part/MJVO-3 Just what I thought, but he says air does not come out of the barrel, so the QEV...

Re: Interesting To Know

I would have guessed the larger screw makes more force because of the shallower angle of the threads  This is a good description I found in the comments 'Seems like the threads being further from the axis of rotation and thus the wrench having less mechanical advantage is a bigger factor than...

Re: MJVO-3 venting air from the sides

Components look good, you are filling from trigger valve (P). This is how I run mine QEV.jpg Trigger valve is normally open then blocks air feed and dumps P port to atmosphere to fire QEV. I think maybe you need to flip the connections on the MJVO-3. Hmmm, now I look at the connection diagram it app...

Re: Short question topic

Playing with the idea of a piston actuated semi automatic airsoft, there will be a spring behind the piston to return it to the home position which will allow another to drop into position, detent may be needed to stop it rolling out. Not sure what will happen to the piston as it reaches full stroke...

Re: Confused. Cylinder chamber to barrel ratio for compressed air.

Higher pressure will always give better performance, you can use smaller chamber to get the same volume, and probably smaller valve, just that everything has to be rated for that pressure, that's why I stick to 150psi, materials are easy to get hold of.

Stripped the old BFG, fitted my homemade QEV as the main valve, and a new Normally Open trigger valve, first test shots are very impressive.

Re: New spring powered airsoft

Getting the loading mechanism linked into the charging mechanism has been a headache but it is getting close. 004 (2).jpg Charge/load position, block on the charge rod moves about 80mm then hits the rounded piece on the L arm as it only needs about 20mm movement to move the plunger to the load posit...
