I'd make a little effort to make the front of the cork a little more aerodynamic myself. Seems to work OK for you and it's a good idea, I just think you could round off the front a little and still retain the cylindrical shape towards the back for stability within the barrel.

Oh I see, so it's actually using the projectile itself to complete the circuit. Now it makes more sense.

It's been too long since I've been around. You guys have come up with all kinds of new playthings.

Well the effectiveness is limited by the strength of the vacuum, the ease of movement of the piston, the amount of ventilation in the rear, the weight of the piston assembly...

Never said it'd be effective, just throwing it out there as a practical use for a nifty vacuum.

Well... Practical use. You could design a cannon with a "chamber" that could withstand the vacuum. A piston in the chamber, vents at the back... Here, forgive the crudeness of the drawing. A rough sketch of the idea. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h209/paaiyan/cannon.png Basically vented at the b...

Depending on your accellerant of choice the spray may not be a vapor to begin with. Either you're using something that's a flammable liquid atomized into very small droplets, or it could be that the substance of the spray isn't your fuel, it could be the propellant that you're getting ignition from....

About that video.... Is there any way we can extend the contest deadline? Say, until I become a millionaire? That's not too much to ask right?

There's absolutely no way it "burned" you in the sense of a hot substance burning. What you have is most definitely frostbite. Basic chemistry tells us that any pressurized gas cools as it expands rapidly.

Haha, just making sure. Because 200v would make for a very very small spark.

When you say 200v stun gun, do you really mean 200,000v?
