New test!
Much more power! :D :D
If my maths are good, this little puppy achieved more than 40N of thrust!! That's close to 9 pounds!

Cheaper maybe... But I can't find NO2, and it polutes once in the air. It reacts with ozone and is somewhere around 300 more times green-house-effet active than CO2. The Bottle of oxygen I got for free. My plumber gave it to me for free, because he has other ones. So the only thing I need to worry a...

The last run was unexpectedly loud.! :D It made a very deep "POMMM!!" like a firearm, then continued on burning for 1.5 second with the same intensity , then the fuel had almost been burned but the combustion stayed another 2.3 seconds. Burning a 52.16grams fuel grain of paraffin + 85 grams of O2 in...

New tests, Enjoy.
O2 pressure and flow has been dramaticly increased since last time, resulting in more noise, more thrust (only felt when holding the setup) , and smaller burning times.

Yes you can, but air is only 20% Oxygen. I narrowed down the problem. As D_Hall said, not enough oxygen to increase the chamber pressure. My fuel burns too slowly. The chamber pressure can not increase fast enough. I'm screwed, because i'd need a bigger regulator and a bigger bottle, and it costs mo...

This test was not done for thrust. I only wanted to familiarize myself before getting serious. @D_Hall: Cigarette lighter was used for the simple fact I was using very little amounts of propellant and the oxygen regulator is set very low on pressure. No gaseous fuel were involved, only a small fuse ...

Note that the actor that played McGyver (Michael Dean Anderson) also went on several other planets and fought numerous other species.

On a more related note, nice stuff as always Joerg!!

I had forgotten about that topic! Still, I don't want to make a paypal account, and no France retailers sell these... And i'm doing pneumatic activities again for several reasons: 1) Less noise 2) faster (ROF wise) 3) I don't have the pieces to mod my bike pump (quick disconnect § braided tubing) 4)...

Yeah I know that lol :D The general feel of the valve gave me an impression of slow opening in the coaxial. However performance was great, about 1000 fps with a 0.24g BB at 400 psi. It would be interesting to have a commercial QEV however i've been searching and couldn't find a retailer here in fran...
