That is one fine coaxial! Looking forward to the final painted version. You probably spent more time on the base/stand as you did on the actual launcher. Very nice design for using PVC. Thanks for the props. It did take quite a wile. But I wanted something light, easy to transport, and would use a ...

Looks good and I'm sure performance is pretty amazing, but is that stand up to dealing with the recoil? It is quite sturdy as is. It would be very easy to make it much sturdier just by putting 1" wooden rods in all the PVC, witch I planed in the beginning but don't think I need. I plan on putting a...

Sneek peek of my first pistion valve gun, 4" coaxil.

This is the gun I was discussing in this thread. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/help-with-making-a-coaxle-pistion-seal-update-new-pictures-t19818.html All of the bugs are worked out. It seals and fires every time. After it warms up my wife will give it a good paint job. I still need to build the 5'...

Your local ACE hardware can get it. I can even get the SKUs if you want. I am a manager of one. We keep some on hand at all times and you can buy it by the foot instead of the whole piece.

If I was setting up shop for the first time this is the order I would go. Hand tools, wrenchs, plyers, screwdrivers, pipe wrench, the basics. hand drill, full set of drill bits. Big heavy duty vice dremel drill press Full tap and die sets Now keep in mind most of these are sets. I probally have 10+ ...

Well I had a set back today. I decided to do a higher pressure shot since my neighbor was at work. I took the gun with the new piston up to 80 PSI. The piston was holding perfectly, I shot it and it was impressive to say the least. After shooting it I decided to take the piston out to lube it up wit...

Nice. The precharge chamber looks good, not messy at all. The only "thing" is that you've taped the blowgun to the handle. Maybe you could build it inside the handle? Painting would surely give it the finishing touch. Flat black, army-green or camo looks always good on a cannon IMO. But you could a...

Update; I did some changes. I added a chamber for precharging the gun, and added some handles. The small chamber is charged to 100 PSI and opened with a ball valve. That closes the piston and makes filling very easy. I can shoot at as low as 10 PSI. The handel was built just to mock up something to ...

You could also use some fittings and pipe to accumulate the pressure provided by the fridgy Bingo It worked! I also replaced the sealing face with a flat one but it is leaking. I will play with it more in the morning before work to try to see what I need to finish it. I am lucky I can buy the parts...

Thanks for the props. I will redo the sealing washer tomorrow if I get a chance. Unfortunately I do not have access to a full size compressor right now. Let me see what else I can do and I will post back when I can. As soon as I get it firing reliable I will build the tripod, handles, and barrel ext...

Help With making a coaxle pistion seal. Update, New pictures

My gun is built, but i can't seem to get the piston to seal. The piston has a 1/8" thick rubber washer for a sealing face glued to the 3" end cap. I am using a fridge pump to fill it. My fear is not enough volume to make the piston seal. The piston has a O-ring and a shrader valve I got to break fre...

Thanks I think I will just leave it with what GGDT has as a standard.

Thanks,
Marcus

Edit, I figured the Print screen out. I did not realize I had to save it in a different program.

How do I figure valve coef in GGDT?

I understand all of the other parameters in GGDT well enough to trust the out come except this. How would I figure it? The gun I am currently modeling is a coaxle with 4" chamber 2" barrel with a o-ring sealed piston and a 1" modified sprinkler valve dumping it. Piston weight is about 1 lb. Also how...
