Another idea I've toyed with in the past was using a 12g cartridge in the projectile itself. I know it isn't combustion based, but it's still a thought. I remember back in the day some friends and I used to make little wooden cars that were propelled by the powerlets and those things used to zip alo...

Your design may work, but there are obvious problems, the main one being the alignment of the terminals. A while back, I proposed a theory on the same concept. Here is a picture: http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc206/WH017/untitled.jpg This trigger design worked by dropping the projectile into th...

I was talking about the grenade, not the launcher. It may not have been his though. I'm not sure. It had a trigger that is a cap you twist on and it goes off bout four or five seconds after. For what it's worth, I'm not trying to criticize or discourage your project. I've got quite a bit of experien...

I know the whole concept of M79 and M203 launchers is quite appealing to the masses, but there are several things you must consider when building such a devise to use in games; the primary issue is safety. What works good in theory may not be such a great idea in practicality. If there is even a sma...

It's a good idea in my opinion accept for 1 issue. When to let members into such a section?
Easy fix... Let the other members vote. The veterans of the community know who each other are. Other not-so-familiar faces can be voted in by those members.

It all depends on what you want done with it. The questions are just a little vague. Does it allow sufficient air passage? Yes and no. Depends on the launcher. Can it hold 1oopsi? Maybe. If you are looking to build a Nerf gun, then these have been shown to work. But if you're looking to put a golf b...

Hubb, its necessary every time! cause hardened spine is very fragile, even though its thick, it will last you forever if you differential heat treat it RIGHT, you can always fail it hehe I know a little bit about it. I just gave a VERY brief synopsis. The key word is doing it "right". The heat trea...

i hope you are planning to do differential heat treatment  yea of cause...... just ah, what is differential heat treatment? Basically, it is method of hardening the edge but keeping the spine soft. It's not necessary, especially for a file knife since the spine is so thick, but it hel...
