Yeah, the constant pressure system is kind of innacurate and unreliable anyway. A regulated meter, (either by hand or an air regulator), with a longer meter pipe, (but not too long), will provide much more flexibility and service.

Simply drill a 1/2" hole through where a coupling or adapter overlaps your chamber pipe, then pull the valve stem through from the outside with pliers until it pops into place. The ridge will pop over the top of the hole. I coated the one on my first pneumatic with some epoxy to make sure it sealed.

Actually, if you build it right you can completely close off the chamber and ignite the mix inside it without anything happening. Only 50 PSI max.

Jspellman did a closed chamber ignition with a 4x/4x atm mix on his hybrid.

Those pipes are really short. Unless you plan on buying a 6" cleanout adapter and then a 6x3" bushing and coupling to make it a chamber for, like, a 3" barreled combustion, then they're pretty much no use...

They don't just give you the scrap free? When my friend was building his POS spudgun, he had to connect a busload of 1-1/2" fittings so he just asked the guy at the store for some 1-1/2" scrap, and he gave it to him. Usually, stores will give the the scrap free because they just wanna get rid of it ...

Heh heh. I can walk to the feed store near my house in 10 minutes tops and they've got all kinds of junk, included pressure rated 4" threaded plugs, though they're a little expensive, (10$).

No place around here seems to sell SCH-80 pipe, only SCH-80 fittings, which is really pretty pointless.

Sounds like you live in some big city thar. Home Depot will cut pipe to length for me, but I always go to the feed or hardware store, and they'll sell me short lengths, but the shortest length I've ever bought was 5', just to be nice. Just buy the 10' length and make some pop bottle barrels. ...

I use metered propane on my mini, and it works like a dream and fires every single shot with a BBQ igniter and a single spark gap. It can also put a Dum Dum lollipop through roofing tin from about 20' away. INVEST!!!! MAKE A METER AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SPRAY SH** AGAIN!!! I have a sma...

He wants to know about boiling PVC to aid in Foxxlord's plans for a 3" piston, made by wrapping 3" SCH-40 around 2" SCH-40 with a slot cut out of it.

I'll try that next time. :D Maybe when I get started on my cousin's Christmas gift. Might be a little cheaper than a torch.

Do you know where I can get a regulator cheap though?

Great if I could find any of those. Mr. Heater brand ones online would cost more than the torch and compression nut, (when the compression nut is about 90 cents).
