JSR told me they are useful up to 1000 psi You know these cereal boxes with cardboard stuff you can cut out and it says "ask a parent to help you with the scissors" :D :D :D I have to say you're being very patient, almost like a parent ;) My parents were never THAT patient  Alright then. I do ...

Commercial guns are accurate when using some type of pellets. For example, i have a crosman 1377c stardard edition, no mods: it can shoot less than 1" groupings at 10 meters, holding it with one hand, match shooting stance with some good quality wadcutter pellets, but throw in some nasty beefy pelle...

Sorry about the animal thing, I just used that as an example to show that this gun has some pretty decent power. I would want at least 2" groupings at 15m. I'm not too fussed about the power. All I want is range, accuracy and a high FPS, muzzle velocity I'm not too fussed about. I just want to be a...

High FPS doesn't mean anything... You could shoot a 0.01 mm pin at 5000 fps and wouldn't get much damage (if it's what you seek.) Also try not to talk about shooting living stuff.... it's in the rules. Accuracy is very relative aswell. What sort of grouping do you want? 1" at 15 meters? 1/2" ? All t...

I mean easy calculation can be done. By cross section, i mean: you use a cylindrical chamber, then what is 'pi * r^2' ? (r being the radius of the pipe) From there you can calculate the force pushing the valve to seal. and from there you can calculate how much energy your hammer has to transfer to t...

Your last design could probably -if changed a bit- work. what is your chamber cross section? At 1000 psi, you will need a small valve seal diameter. But I still feel uncomfortable with your posts. You know that what you are searching for is actually really simple to build if you choose your parts co...

I see what you mean. However, i'd suggest he starts by doing a less complicated design before, avoiding problems we encountered. ( i had a 2L soda bottle blow up near my brother's head, or a slug from a hot glue piston shot at my foot at 120psi. ) The designs you built BTB were maybe inspired by oth...

You need to do something : quit pretending you already know about stuff you clearly fail to understand. I'm being harsh, but we don't want to see you get harmed. Advice here is free, people share their experiences and experiments, that includes self-criticism, and lucid look over past mistakes and s...

As for the design I showed here yesterday, it is really from a nerf gun. I took it off some time ago, and hooked it to a blow gun with very small air reservoir at 300 psi. I made a small video of the operation :

Hi guys, A while ago i posted a scheme of a BBMG that wouldn't loose air. Some kind of a full-auto barrel-sealing piston valve. Let me try to find it back... EDIT : Found it http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/8141/photo254dy0.jpg This was a while ago, like 4 years... This design is the same as a Ner...

It reminds me... 6 years ago, i made a small UHU glue-stick combustion cannon. I wanted to shoot my friend at the breaks between classes. So, shooting rolled paper balls didn't seem painfull. So i tried it on myself with a rolled-up chewing gum paper. Well... how to say it.... Point blank (i ...

Make sure there is very little space between your "moveable thing in the tank" and the walls of your "fixed thing that contains breathing stuff packed inside" ;) LOL :D great one :D Aside from that... Piston needs to be extra light, almost airtight while keeping minimum friction with the chamber wa...
