What is the OD (outside diameter) of the CPVC barrel. Normally CPVC is used for hot water applications. Where did you buy the CPVC pipe? Is it 1/2 inch? Are there any markings on the CPVC pipe? The other lead is basically the Black lead.
You will see two pins of transformer are connected to Black which is ground.

If you can give me a direct overhead close up and a view of all the values of parts I can create a schematic.
Any part numbers on components would help.

Both types of QEV's have been used successfully.
The rectangular shaped ones would have a narrower width than the round ones. That is what I would use.
