Re: "In the world of spuds today"

@wyz: I made it. @Jack: For the most part. Drowning the chamber in Pellgun oil seems to have stopped most of the slow leaking. It will hold at 500 psi for about ten minutes before beginning to drop noticeably. I have my remote tank setup working which makes charging near effortless and also makes th...

Re: Valveless Dump-valve Idea

Now there are probably a lot of cons to this idea, obvious drawback is this has to be loaded in order to be pressurized which is a major safety hazard, likely will have to be muzzleloader as the ball will have to be pushed past a strong locking lug inside of the barrel, it can never be more than a ...

Valveless Dump-valve Idea

Hey guys, I've been thinking about starting a small project based on an idea I had one day at work while bored. The concept is simple, an airgun with no valve, instead a round projectile is locked against the mouth of the air chamber to block air from reaching the barrel, the projectile is always pu...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"

A nice three stage pump will take you to 400 psi in very little time, and air being less dense and temperature sensitive than CO2 is going to give you better and more consistent performance. I didn't know that about HPA, thanks for the info. I'm considering converting my ball valve musket to a coax...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"

Enjoy the awkward silence of me shooting my ball valve musket. Words are very unnecessary ;) They can only do harm! Ahem, why do you think I should switch to a pump? My little tire inflator charges me up to 400 psi in half a second, a hand pump would be a bigger hassle I would think. Co2 is a bit m...

It didn't show up on the camera but the gauge reads 260 psi, a good pressure for glass marbles but not amazing for steel and lead.

Re: Short question topic

Yes, but. The heavier the projectile, the more spin you need to induce in order to have a visible effect. This also robs the projectile of forward velocity, which means that while you will get a flatter trajectory, you will also have a lower velocity on target. Also, with friction being a variable,...

Re: Short question topic

Anyone know if it's possible to induce hop-up/magnus effect lift on a 1/2" steel or lead ball going about 400fps?

Re: [WIP] Triggered Ball Valve Musket

Again excuse the lack of updates guys, I know you guys wanna see more updates but I'm lacking a lot of freedom lately, most of the work I've done lately has been fixes or minor things, my chamber started leaking badly so I had to totally rebuild that, took a lot of my time. I really just need to get...

Re: [WIP] Triggered Ball Valve Musket

So here's a short clip of the action, unfortunately I haven't gotten the sear to make the nice audible "click" when it locks back the hammer, can't have that now. [youtube]https://youtu.be/Y0CSaH8mkZ4[/youtube] You can see the hammer still isn't kicking the valve open much, however when pressu...

Re: [WIP] Triggered Ball Valve Musket

I'll get a video posted soon, I'm still trying to smooth out the tumbler/sear contact surfaces, and cut out the half-cock* notch. *The feature that makes old revolvers and muskets click twice when the hammer is pulled back, the first click is the half-cock position, second is fully cocked. In half-c...

Re: Single shot airsoft

Nice work on the flash hider, looks very clean overall. I like how the stock is built off of the chamber. Looking forward to the video.
