It's highly unlikely that you'll be able to fire them with enough force to distort them and make them unusuable.
I'd recommend a box full of old newpapers/magazines/carpet as a backstop.

The gun is huge, very well constructed and looks the part No one is doubting that, it's an amazing achievement and I'll be the first to admit that I am jealous I don't have the space to build and fire such a monster - but as far as claiming close to mach 3 without solid propellant is concerned, the...

Could some one do some simple math equations and find out the joules of energy of a golfball at 2,700FPS/45grams.Just interested to see how much energy this thing is capable of! Assuming the velocity figures are correct, for a 45 gram golfball travelling at 2700 feet per second, we get 15,285 joule...

scary! and very impressive, but I still doubt that 2,700 FPS figure. What sort of penetration did you get with the drums? At that velocity, a 4 gram 0.223 bullet will punch straight through half an inch of steel plate. I'd expect a golfball weighing ten times more than the bullet travelling at the s...

I won't preach about what you should or shouldn't be doing, I was lucky to have parents too scared to tell me to stop with...

one of these, you mean? http://www.aesthetic-endeavors.com/ms-150/images/thumbtack.jpg Depends on your valve, barrel length & diameter, chamber volume... Instead of improvising, why not save up a little, head down to the hardware store, buy some proper fittings and make something like this in less t...

Connecting the Barrel to the blowgun couldn't be simpler, just wrap it in tape until it fits the nozzle end (as per attachment) As to connecting the coke bottle to the other end, remove the collar to expose the thread, drill a good sized hole in the cap and use lost of epoxy to keep it in place. The...

Not a viable idea in my opinion, you're not going to manage to get more power than a cheap airsoft pistol unless you have access to proper machining facilities and high quality materials. Pneumatics offer much more power potential - look at commerical airguns, I've never seen a spring rifle do more ...
