Holy smokes... those numbers are good. Even more so since the joint is .5" long. I thought soft solder wouldn't work for such pressures but I'm glad I was wrong. Its actually for a two stage HP pump. Thanks ramses!

I've had the exact same type of valve and I can tell you they're pretty bad... the piston is sloppy in the brass guides so it tends to miss the seat and leak. Maybe this is not the same manufacturer but still... it has a plastic piston and a seat over .748". Using this on a pump for 700 psi is just ...

Finally got all of the bugs out of the design.... Switched to a one piece HDPE body and an aluminum check valve piston. The cap seems to be in two parts... the brass one holds the ball while the aluminum one is just an extension.
