How about just modding the original pilot valve he has?

Add a seal for it so that immediately when its pressed it seals up again, should still pilot enough pressure out to activate the piston valve...

As far as i know these tanks are usually rated 240psi, but the burst pressure is 3-4x higher than the rating, usually

As far as I'd consider, 300psi would still be somewhat safe if your tank is in good shape but if it blows up don't blame on me
