Good stuff. I recently got SAW1 on vinyl, I didn't think much of Ageispolis before that, but on vinyl it has become my favourite on the album.

Haven't heard Frivolous before, sounds a bit more mellow.

Re: What music do you listen?

Yet to meet someone who listens to what I primarily listen to. Discovered Aphex Twin several years ago, been listening ever since. Awesome. I do like big home built contraptions.

Re: Classic and simple .25 cal 'sniper' rifle

Looks tidy. Nice job on the stock. The solid barrel should help with its accuracy. I find my builds are much less frustrating when I start with a projectile I can get lots of cheaply. If you add a detent to the barrel, with a bit of tuning you might be able to retain those BBs. A very small hole wit...

Ah yes, one of the very first cannons I saw on this site, I still find it pretty inspirational.

Re: DIY Electric Bike Conversion

I think the lateral forces that will be experienced by the drill and bracket will be larger than you expect, given the dynamics of slight bumps in the road and drills aren't designed for that kind of loading. It would pay to run through some calcs with the drills output power, speeds and torques and...

Re: Is spudding dead?

We had this similar discussion at work last week. We were asking what has changed, as these days (compared to 10 years ago) there is no one working overtime developing their own projects in the workshops and inventing new products. Part of the conclusion was the generational change. Many of the long...

Re: True Bolt Action 6mm Cannon

Very nicely done. It shows that you have thought and cared about the details in the build. For some reason I always find myself resorting to hand tools (despite having access to fully spec'd model shops at work). It's a lot slower to make a mistake, which is a good thing if you are after a bespoke f...

It sounds like you know what you are talking about. Hopefully you are able to make this and get it to work.
It will make an interesting cannon or gun.

Re: Concentric auto-cocking spool / piston hybrid valve

Cool design, I have often thought about mixing springs and pistons but never made anything. I wonder if you would get an air spring effect reducing the valves power when the vent reseals as the piston begins to move back? (between 2nd and 3rd diagrams) Although this will probably be easy to work aro...

Re: Is spudding dead?

I also wonder if there is a perception of 'everything has already been done before' so people aren't posting their builds. Competitions are good to drive interest, but only if enough people get to see them and participation is greater than 1. There was/is a Spudfiles whatsapp group. I am not sure if...

Re: Is spudding dead?

I don't want to agree, but but there is evidence, eg currently in 'live' chat... :( I'm still very much interested in the hobby, even if I don't have much to show for it. But maybe like the others there is not much time to spend on it. Though have recently 95% finished a hybrid fuelling rig with big...
