I bought several of these, work wonders. Air flow is healthy and stable.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote: Something like this will probably work better but make sure you have a safety pop-off or burst disk in your circuit, if a seal fails inside then it's full reservoir pressure to your system.

So it's basically a rocket but the propellent isn't onboard... The twist to cancel the rifling is very well thought tho.

Re: Balanced Hammer Valves
Tried to make one and it did work, a lot of little holes tho. Kinda impressive open a 1000 psi valve with a light press of your thumb.

Re: Short question topic
Me neither, I only went back to this topic because I have been eyeing the PDI barrel for VSR for a few years and they gradually changed from 6,01 to 6,08. I just noticed 6,08 very recently, before it was 6,05. Since it's claimed to be cold hammer forged I don't think they did it to reduce cost, sinc...

Re: Short question topic
Just a quick thought, considering BB diameters vary, maybe wide bore barrels are better because compared to the bore size the variation of the bb diameter represents a smaller percentage? Per example: a bb is about 5,95mm +- 0,01mm, so maximum of 0,02mm between bbs. With a 6,01 barrel that's 0,05-0,...

Give him a break Jimmy, the guy is probably the only one around here who built a self contained hybrid repeater. He is more than worthy of being taken seriously.jimmy101 wrote:If you want to be taken seriously quit using the stupid name "HHO". There is no such thing. You are using 2H2 + O2.

Re: Short question topic
Meanwhile ordered a PDI spring and machined a carbon fiber+SS piston and bearinged guide, gonna compare the performance with the floating oring version.

Re: Short question topic
Diminished the leak, however the friction of the o-rings became problematic, the FPS actually rises a little when the pressure starts to drop before start diminishing.
FPS is also lower than the floating o-ring version, the piston is moving slower.

Well butter me rear and call me biscuit, I did not expect this
This would cause the need to increase the pre charge pressure and make the leak less noticeable.

Oh that. Well I built some gliders from kits(pretty good ones, balsa wood with proper wing structure and fuselage) when I was a kid and most of them had this so I kept it here, plus the tail wing is small so I thought it might add stability?

Re: Short question topic
Quick update: The seal got better after I used slightly larger o-rings. So I'm gonna redo the aluminium part, make it squeeze the o-rings a bit, also gonna change the rear to thread mount instead of just o-rings slide on. If this works would be great, the thing is real crisp to shoot and quiet. The ...
