Yeah, kind of my thinking there. The sprinkler valve is really only rated to 125 psi anyway. I know people have taken them up to 200 or so, but, I'd rather not push it, especially with SCH40 PVC. Maybe if it was copper. GGDT has me putting up 500-700 FPS at 110 PSI with these projectiles, haven't ch...

So, bit of an update. Added a basic muzzle brake (mostly for looks) and sights to the cannon. And I whipped up about 80 of these little buggers The ones with the screw tip weigh in at about 9 g, the plain ones about 4.5 g. Took about an hour to make them excluding time for the paint to dry (just use...

A lot of guys on here have built tiny coaxial cannons that would be in that size range, and could be made to power up with a compressor (or even a high pressure hand pump if need be). Check out some of the showcase forums. Also, maybe get GGDT (Gas Gun Design Tools). Program will let you work out th...

100 PSI, generally.

I'm working on a design for uniform, stabilized projectiles (and a method to produce them en masse). Nothing fancy, but more pop than a chunk of potato, more penetration that a straight dowel slug, and higher FPS than bolts/washers.

We'll see how that turns out.

Yeah, it's a multipurpose/surface paint. Initially I was going to go for a matte black or a dark metallic bronze look. The reason I opted for the brighter look was I didn't want the sun beating down on it to overheat the plastic. Yeah, I know, it's pretty anal retentive, but, I'm still happy.

Thanks. :D I feel the same way about the piece between the elbows, but... c'est la vie. The 3 way valve has the sprinkler honking a little, now that I mounted it in the handle. It wasn't before I assembled it all. The out port on it flows down through the bottom of the handle, I think I may need to ...

Lordy lordy, Schedule 40

So, this is my first spud gun. Mentioned it briefly in the pneumatic discussion forum, the paint is more or less done though, so, here it is. Still needs some tweaking with the looks, but, functions great. Also, the name, I just came up with that on the fly. Pay no mind. :? Pretty standard sprinkler...

Hmm, interesting thoughts on the schrader. I'll have to play around with that when I get it fully up and running, thanks. As for pics, those will be coming soon. I just got the modded valve into the system, I was kind of waiting on that before making the final adjustments on some of the accoutrement...

Discrepancy between pump pressure gauge and Orbit gauge

Howdy all, New to the forum, new to spudding (apart from a poorly executed venture about 10 years ago). Seems like a good place to ask about a problem (or not) I'm having on my new spud gun. So I've got a sprinkler valve and it honks! Kidding. 1.5" SCH 40 PVC air tank, 38" long. Actuated by a modded...
