Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW

I don't know about you but no amount of fancy ARs or AKs, custom built or exotic auction win will ever seem to replace the feeling you get after completing a big "spud" launcher and firing it off for the first time. I've even had the honor to shoot .50 BMGs out here in Colorado at truly long ranges...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW

I need to get back to building. :/ I've had AR parts lying around since last fall but I finally got around to getting a lower a month ago and have been building that instead of the cannon I need to be finishing.

Re: Re:

The fan should be placed on the other side of the spark gap or it is at large risk of being blown apart. Fan at the back is problematic? Mine is mounted about 2 inches from the rear, never had a problem or had to replace it... Sgort has been gone for several years. Last I checked his channel on you...

The real question is what will become of my .223 stockpile without a Mini-14?
Shoulda stockpiled .308. :) I don't see anything in the new bill about something like a PTR-91 although I'm certainly no expert on Canada's firearms laws and it may have already been restricted/prohibited.

Re: Small pirate cannon

Nice job, good to see some more of your youtube creations over here. Only criticism I really have is against the two DWV fittings you have on there. The bell reducers are the only ones I can see (you can tell because all the pressure rated fittings have longer spigots than the reducers' sockets), so...

Re: Potato Howitzer

Nice! I'm very impressed by all the "errata" like the homemade scrap elevation adjustment and frame. I can tell a lot of persistence was required to get all of that to fit together, good job! Few suggestions: 1.) As far as the recoil springs, they probably won't do much with light projectiles like l...

It won't help much if at all with the crime problem when most of the crime guns are smuggled from the US.

D_Hall, do you have any of the old documentation that went along with these? Or perhaps you or someone else is willing to help create some?
No need to reinvent the wheel indeed.

Boooo. When did that happen?

Edit: did they bundle it with the assault weapons ban? I can't find anything.

However, what I am trying to avoid is running over the o-ring with any kind of holes to avoid shredding it over time
Good catch.

I'm excited about this project. It has double the surface area for flow from the port as my last one
Even more surface area for lightweight discarding sabots.

Re: Cooking up a little something else...

So, do you think that o-ring is likely to blow out? What kind of O-ring? I would think you could climb the durometer scale until you found something that stays put. EDIT: also something you could consider, but you would have to use a longer stroke for the piston to get the same flow and it would in...

Re: New member... my baby, Big Red

"pure oxygen" and fuel? Maybe you noticed the vacuum pump hidden in the battery box that evacuates the chamber before filling it with "pure oxygen and fuel". I didn't notice much of anything since you just posted a video. ;) You sound pretty smart, we just tend to get nervous when people post pictu...

Re: New member... my baby, Big Red

What's the construction? Using pure oxygen + fuel in plastic piping isn't a great idea. Maybe that's why you didn't actually fire the thing in the video.
