Reputation system and the new layout

One of the things that seems to have been lost with the redesign is the previous reputation system, forum ranking is now based on post count. I see we now have a "thanking" system but it seems a shame that the previous thumbs up/thumbs down ranks are lost and it has been reset to zero. Stalin would ...

Re: Quest for paintball alternatives

I have been seeking alternatives to paintballs for some time and thought I had the perfect solution in the "dimpled wax shell powder balls" but they are now not available apparently despite the continued listing by several retailers. We stopped importing them due to lack of sales, also they were qu...

Re: Low-friction/Specialty Ball Valves?

You're not going to get much lower friction than teflon seals, but they can still be a bear to turn. Ball valves simply aren't designed for quick/easy motion.

Re: Self contained airsoft, pump action.

More done, linkage from charge handle to rear to be made and trigger needs a return spring, power seems low but that's what I wanted. The springs are about as much as I can push, rearward charging is definitely needed for more spring tension.

Re: KISS BB pistol

So I dug this one out of my storage box and gave it another go. It didn't work as a 4.5mm BB pistol and I didn't wan't another pellet gun or airsoft so I made it 10mm :o Made a bigger chamber and changed the barrel :D

Re: Browning Airstar 200

I have often wondered why the electric airsoft guns didn't use a sear. It would give the trigger a more realistic feel, completing the firing cycle rather than starting it, and would allow better reduction through the gears so a weaker motor could be used. It would add more complexity to an already...

Re: "Sabotless" Semi-Automatic Shotgun Concept

I was having a bit of a think about this idea and it seems it could be greatly simplified and also made more efficient: https://i.imgur.com/Csm81PX.gif The piston itself becomes the hammer that opens an inline balanced valve. It is good simplification. I think that the stem that drives the projecti...

Brass as the foundation of a projectile?

I'm sitting here looking at a piece of 38 special brass. It just happens to be on my desk (yes, really). And I'm thinking to myself, "Self, this might make a good projectile." More to the point, I could see epoxying a nail in the primer pocket to make a dart. But a dart that is reasonably cheap/easy...

Re: Calculations related to pneumatic cannon.

Probably the quickest/easiest hand calcs you can do for potato gun prediction.... EndPressure = StartPressure * ChamberVolume / (ChamberVolume + BarrelVolume) MuzzleEnergy = (StartPressure + EndPressure) / 2 * BarrelLength * PI/4 * BarrelBoreDiameter^2 MuzzleVelocity = sqrt (2 * MuzzleEnergy / Proje...

Full auto airsoft pistol

I sort of made a full auto pistol from pieces I screwed together, the chamber is the only piece fabricated. Holds 130 bbs, rate of fire is insane, can get 4 bursts if I'm quick on the trigger. Compressor connects to the small fitting on the chamber at 150psi. The valve is a 5/2 1/8"' port pilot oper...
