Re: Self contained airsoft, pump action.

Yes the tube at the rear is the magazine, it holds 22 BBs and gravity feeds one at a time when the plunger goes down, the last few don't feed well as they are horizontal and are not pushed from above, so I normally shoot like 10 then reload it.

Re: Help with making a diy blowback system

Boyle's Law tells us that, for a constant temperature, pressure is inversely related to volume, so for a fixed quantity of gas, if we reduce the volume by a factor of 2, we raise the pressure by a factor of 2. So, if we assume you have a 100mL chamber at atmospheric pressure, and you want to raise i...

Re: New member... my baby, Big Red

I have not had any problems shooting with additional oxygen. I have completed calibration using propane and mapp, but have not had enough shooting time to test with oxygen. With plain fuel air mix I have achieved about 700 joules muzzle energy (only a 5' bsrrel, so chamber/barrel ratio is high), but...

Small pirate cannon

Some friends talked me into chipping in on a horrible pontoon boat from Craigslist, so I figured it needed a cannon. 4.jpg Youtube vid of building and testing it: https://youtu.be/y364uvJSq-U I still need to swap out the air hookup for a self-shutting version, otherwise I've just been keeping it hoo...

Potato Howitzer

I just finished building a wheeled potato "howitzer" out of spare parts. It works pretty well, although I need to take it somewhere a bit more rural for testing once it's legit to travel around again. 1.jpg 2.jpg Youtube vid: https://youtu.be/ocxYe_j6nOw It's got the standard 2" barrel & 4" chamber ...

Re: My current hobby: Cowboy Action Shooting

Turns out that the same guys who run the Cowboy Shoots also do what they refer to as BAM shoots.... Bolt Action Military. Basically the idea is to use a bolt action military rifle in as-issued condition that dates to 1945 or earlier. It also turns out that my Mom once bought an 1895 Mauser on a whim...

Re: Propane failing to ignite reliably.

I have to agree, using oxygen is a dangerous additive. If you are adding more than smidge, you're in danger if you finally get the mixture right and it ignites properly. Propane will only ignite between 2.5% and 9.2% by volume with air at sea level, so you may well be under fueling it. Get it all so...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW

You helped to forge the path into a new era of hybrid development. If it wasn't for your efforts, my new cannon that I love to death wouldn't exist. Really appreciate this comment. That was my primary goal back then, to move spudding forward, hopefully inspire people to create bigger, more powerful...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW

Welcome back, Gunfreak. NOW BUILD SOMETHING! :D I might design a large bore soup can launching monster. I think my next cannon should have enough recoil to just about put me on my ass. It's called for. Did you forget about ME? https://vimeo.com/263675436 Oh man, this post brings back memories of my...

Arduino automated spudgun fuel injector

Hi all, I've been away from the forum since forever, but I'm still firing my old cannons now and then. They all reside at the airfield where I skydive, since it's there I have the most space and the best audience. My carrot combustion cannon (showcased here ) has been my go-to since it's not tied to...

Re: Arduino automated spudgun fuel injector

Let's do the math for puff metering a hybrid with a closed chamber. We'll use numbers a bit different from mine, to make the example clearer. I've sanity checked the result and double checked some of the math, but if someone wants to check and verify (both thinking and actual math) it's appreciated....
