I need some ideas for ammo. I have 1/2"- 1 1/2" barrels, and I need some ideas for them. If anyone can give me some ideas that would be great. (Paintballs and airsoft shotgun shells I have covered...) EDIT! I have 1/4" barrels, 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 1 1/2". K thanks.
Edit 2, this is for a pneumatic rifle....

well, not much experience on my side, but 1/2" is my goal for a functional rifle, and I believe black powder ammo and lead balls will do just fine in that caliber.
Depend on your firing pressure and damage goal I guess? Myself I would be very happy with a 100 ft*lb using a .50 lead ammo.

I'm talking about the ammo only
You'll find them were there's black powder supplies. It's not very expensive in quantity. 50 cal. is a common caliber.
I would not dare talking about forbiden and explosive subjects
something like that:
[edit] thanks for the links! Somehow I'm afraid I'm search-impaired![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.png)

Nice ideas Tech, but maybe something that would be safe to use in a airsoft or paintball war? I like the .50 cal idea, but I dont think I will use those, from a saftey stand point....
safe?
we don't need no stinkin' safe shooting...
I've considered shooting high density foam inhouse for testing my hypothetical future gun... kinda those earplugs
I'm sure somebody already tried it...

Well, with the space I have to fire my gun, I need to think about saftey... I have literally about 50 feet worth of firing space, and the gun has a top of 150 feet at only 5 psi....

I missed the big thread on the subject. It's a sticky.

Ive shot those ear plugs from a spring crossbow thing. They work ok but are not accurate and dont have great range.

I expect earplugs to have about the same range as miniature marshmallows.
depends if you want to play war (which means shooting to each other) as it seem to be what warhead052 want.
I guess a bit of weight at the tip could help, but for a short range and playing like that I'd stick to 100% earplug. Much safer. One can find them for cheap in large quantity in a hardware store.
But I think this is coming closer and closer to Nerf stuff... not really the place to discuss that here, right?![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.png)

No, I have tryed nerf, and its well...Excuse the word, but its shit. I am thinking about buying some hot glue gun sticks and making some slugs to use, its a little safer than a lead ball, and creates a good seal.
Just to clear something up, I do NOT recommended shooting anything at a human, except what is explicitly designed for such. Most spudguns are easily capable of killing, especially with a round designed for good aerodynamics.
All that aside, hot glue sticks may make a viable projectile, but I would never shoot that at anything alive.Forum Rules wrote:Discussion of shooting anything at any person and/or animal is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account.
The exception to this rule is for proper use of legal airsoft and/or paintball markers.
