I have an old tube of steel expoxy. You just take it out, mix it around on the threads, and then connect it together. I've only done it on steel though, should work with copper. But in other words, epoxy is your best bet. Check your local hardware store.
EDIT: What you found in that link is similar to what I have.

Actually, now that I think about it...threaded fittings would be ideal...but epoxy is the way to go if you don't have threaded fittings.

the epoxy is for fixing an 8mm aluminium tube inside a 15mm copper tube, i will probably use wooden disks to centre it then epoxy it in.

So you need something that bonds wood to metal?

no, the wood is just to centre the barrel then i will mould the epoxy funnel the air into the barrel.

I used Bondo to fill the muzzel end inbetween my barrel and shell/cover, it's a 1" in a 2", then just sanded to shape. Bondo sticks like crazy, and is solid as a rock. Maby try that, if it don't work, it's easy enough to remove.
