Im not too sure if this is allowed. I know you are not allowed to post anything to do with firing explosives but this is not an explosive it just looks cool. If you have a
PNEUMATIC COPPER/MEATAL spudgun. You should use wire wool (steel wool) as the wadding. It is amazing. It is not dangerous and makes it look like a real gun at night except for the fact there is a 25 foot long stream of burning embers and light! By the way sorry if you cant post stuff like that.

...err. I geuss it's not intended to ignight things, and would probably fail in doing so anyway, so I'm going to allow it to stay until someone else says otherwise.
That being said, I'm surprised the friction with the copper is enough to ignight the steel wool.

wow thats news to me, thanks for the tip.
will that ignite dry grass?

Ive never tried to put anything in afterwards. I suppose you could. And to boilingleadbath, the spudgun we used for this had been going for about a year by then so the inside of the barrel had a lot of imperfections which probrably gave it the extra friction needed to ignite.
Hey if you look in pneumatic submissions you will be able to see the gun we used. Ive just uploaded it. Look for 'My Copper Carbine'.

this also works in combustions, if u attach it onto the spud the combustion ignites it

Yea! The only thing is my spudgun has got a very large cal barrel and findingg enough wool is a nightmare to my wallet! It worked well on my really small spudgun. It looke like a tracer bullet when you put a hole in the potato (the foil wrapped around the hole to prevent from getting wet) then stuffed it with wool and had a wool tail!

i have a combustion so i get a potato and put a hole in the center of it and then put some dry grass through the hole so its sucured in there but has a dry grass tail on the back of the potato.
i then spray it with hairspray and put it down the barrel tail-end first it goes really far and looks like a flaming bird!!!!!!!!

Ehmmmm am I stupid or is this a way to build a badass hybrid???
muzzle load some steelwool into your metal gun, spray in a little starter fluid, quickly load a snug fitting projectile and...voilá...
A supercharged pneumatic...
Or an unintended handgrenade...ofcourse...

the steel wool trick sounds really good i have an old peice of pipe that is rutsed on the inside do you think there would be enough friction there to light it ?

if is rusty it would be very rough on the inside and would work well. I think

Yeah it would. The rust might heat up and cause more sparks. Be carefull though as it can cause fires, you know dont fire it at trees and dry areas.

I like that badass hybrid theory, but would there be too much backpressure for a piston, or am I doing some anal thinking again?
