2" ball valve

Because potatoes only last one shot!

so i hope i haven't screwed up in doing this but i got a nasty feeling i have. if you use WD-40 on a PVC ball valve, is it a lost cause to try and repair it. the WD-40 froze it up bad, but abit of dish soap has sorta fixed it. any ideas on how to get it to open smoother and quicker?

Zipper lube should work great, or powdered graphite.

a really big wrench should do the trick. if it doesnt, your wrench isnt big enough... you therefor FAILED!!!!

Lube stew! Don't know if you should mix those up, mite have a bad reaction???

Did the WD-40 melt the parts together? Are you possitive thats what frooze your ball valve up?

i have been using wd40 on a 2" pvc ball valve for ages never had a problem

Petroleum softens pvc over time, not recommended.

Your best bet is KY jelly or some other water-based personal lubricant.

Another thing worth mentioning is don't use bicycle chain lubes. Most are meant to dry and form a coat over the chain. This isn't what you want with your ball valve.

T-9 by Boeshield works well with PVC ball valves. Expensive for a lube though.

Im not sure the WD-40 melted the PVC but I am positive that the WD-40 is the reason the ball froze.

It may not have melted it, but softened it somewhat.
This probably caused deformation and caused the valve to lock up.

You might want to consider silicon lubricant. It is actually meant for plastics and won't damage it. I've used it on various plastics and it works well. You might have some of it liying around the house, like i did :wink:
