i have been training on welding copper (one of the easiest i have tried) the thing i want to know is if there are special fittings that are thicker or something for welding.

i have never tried to weld copper, i do know how to solder and brazze copper. although i know you can weld copper, i don't have a clue as to what rod or fittings to use. possibly you can use the regular fittings that you solder or brazze.

I've not heard of them for plumbing in the UK at any rate. I can't really see why there would be any either, all the fittings we know of in plumbing are to give surface area for solvent or solder. Welding doesn't need extra surface area, it's pipe to pipe stuff.
