Matty, try chipping off the shell of the golf ball (the white part) and see if it will fit in 1-1/2" sch 40 for me? Thanks.

I am pretty sure that it will, but I will check it out for you. You cant get any sdr21 1 1/2 out that way?? How many feet do you need? I get 20 feet for like 11 bucks. If you can get away with using only 3 to 4 feet, I will gladly send you a length. Lemme know, I can probably get it out today for you. 8)

You guys have never seen the inside of a golf ball? I'll save you the trouble, it's a bunch of rubber bands.

It's a big rubber ball that chips away rather easily. I would say just go buy some rubber balls that fit if that's what you're looking for. You could also just use paper towels for wadding and load something that's smaller in diameter. :idea:

Ya, of course we have jrrdw, he just wanted to see if the golf ball would fit in a piece of regular 1 1/2 inch pvc schedule 40 after you chip away the white outer shell. And Warhead, they do fit!!

Some golf balls have soft rubber balls inside that are liquid filled. Not all golf balls are made with rubber bands.

Has anyone tried casting epoxy ammo inside pieces of the barrel material? It would be a good way to make ammo that exactly fits your barrel.

will get expensive reel fast and time consuming since it take 12hr to harden also not reusable

I calculated its only $0.60 per square inch, and for small bore copper guns, thats not bad.

Also, you can drop pieces of metal down the barrel before you pour, making all the weight in the front for a stable projectile in flight and more penetrating power. Metal dust, bbs, and threaded rod come to mind for this, and with the threaded rod you can put it in a drill press and sharpen it for a truly scary bullet. I'll try it out when I build a 1/2" cannon.

I was bored in the shop (waiting for parts to arrive) so I took some threaded rod I had on hand (1/4") and filed it down in the drill press. Pretty impressive and scary, if I say so myself, the tip is sharp as a needle and totally smooth. Can't find a decent camera to do it justice.

I'll go to Home Depot next weekend to get some copper and 1/2" rod to make the full sized one.

Do you think the threads are enough to make it spin stabilized, like rifling would? Maybe on a larger size where there are fewer threads per inch.
