self propelled propeller car

anyone ever thought of a model car that runs by hooking up a propeller with some gears to the axel, so when the axel turns the prop turns providing thrust thus pushing the car forward. all that you would have to do is get it started by going down a small slope to get the axel turning and the prop turning. I dont know if I would be able to get it to where the prop turns fast enough to push or pull the car unless the car is really light. I just got to thinking cause in physics they are building cars made from paper and cars powered by mousetraps for projects, i was just thinking of ways to improve on this

only if it had a weighted flywheel to keep the momentum going, but it wouldn't go to far untill it stoped

use magnets at set angles pole to pole for a constent push??

make it front wheel drive, easer to pull a object then it is to push it!

Are you implying that you would only have to give the car it's initial speed, and then it would move under it's "own power"? If so, I should point out that you won't get more thrust out of your propeller than you take out of your wheels.

As to the magnets, that doesn't work when wrapped around a spindle, it won't work when layed out flat.

I dont know what I was thinking, there is no way this would work, I was never intending for it to go on forever on flat ground, just a little more than what it would have had with nothing, I wasnt taking into account the drag of the prop in the air, and the added friction to the axel which would slow it down alot faster than with nothing on them. sorry for being a dumb***, I think I was just hoping it would work. oh well. Maybe I am still smart enough to be able to become an aerospace engineer, I hope anyway
