Hello fellow spudders, just wanted to post some pics of my weekend project other then spudding :) This is a device put together from things available at your local electronics store, this thing is just for some sense of security when your in public, with one flick of a switch it produces ear piercing 120 decibel sirens. The lump in the front is the piezo siren it is powered by a 9v battery wired inside, to change i just unscrew the four screw and replace the 9v in its clip, this thing is very rugged and will last many years :D, enjoy guys. oh and the warning sign I just printed off this website that you can make your own warning labels, an i taped it on

Heh, nifty.

I personally hate loud noises, but if I didn't, I'd build one of those :D

Mabye you should use a 556 to give it a two tone warble too, hehe.

Hey, those are pretty useful, especially for pissing off the neighbor's dog  I made something similar to this, except it had a timer on it so that it would go off for five seconds every three minutes, I used it to scare the birds out of our cherry trees.

Heh, I figured I'd get that sort of question :D

Frankly, no, I don't. A launcher is a low-tone kapow! for a split-second, not a high-frequency shrill. I don't mind loud music either, it's just stuff like power tools and alarms that bother me.

As for the timer, I'm going to go off on a limb here and say you should use a monostable 555. A quick search on Google will tell all tales. I'm not sure of their accuracy with long time delays, though.

Edit: Actually, I think it would be a fancy 555 astable circuit for that kind of thing...
