As you may have all known for a very long time, airsoft in Australia is illegal as they represent "real" life firearm that shoot plastic ball bearings. Airsoft Australia is currently working on making it legal by obtaining an airsoft license which is not hard to receive, but as long you are eighteen.

Airsoft Australia, an independant group are negotiating with parliament to make airsoft legal, and if all goes well by the end of December 2008, airsoft should be slowly increasing in popularity.

Why tell all this? Well I reckon airsoft should be legal because of various things...

1. Helps you with stress
2. Social skills
3. Just lets you forget the troubles in your life (in my case, the opposite sex  ) I've had a fair share of rejections no acceptance since grade 9 to half way grade 11 (age 14-16). And you may say "Get over it you'll find one" well it's kind of hard to forget if you've been rejected so many times for like 2 years. Anyway... when I think about airsoft it makes me forget about the worries in my life.

I don't know how about you but how does airsoft help you deal with life or why do you like it?

It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

i want it back because i playd it when i was in America, and omg it is so much fun, mainly adrenline, i cant get enough of it ! so ive played paintball here a couple of times but its not the same, its similar dont get me wrong, but i like airsoft, the guns are more realistic. Even when i play my back yard skirmishes that gives me adrenline rushes, but thats when i play it. Im the only one i know who attempts to make good airsoft guns, i have 1 mate thats actually getting bb's into Australia as we speak, ill post a topic for all the aussies that would like to get in contact with our supplier when i get his details.

Well these are the guns I want for my starter off for airsoft... i'd go for gas or electric but too high maintenance... gonna go spring all the way... until i get bored of it... anyways guns i want

http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-DE-M47-A2.htm

I want 3 180rd magazines + the original one included with the gun...

http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AP-UA-958BH.htm

I want the 3 extra magazines + the oringinal one included with the gun

http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AC-APP-CO-547B.htm

As you can see the tactical vest I want to buy fits all the magazines I'm goign to buy plus the pistol holster...

I've looked up reviews on each gun and they had alot of positive comments on it. Thats how i decided. I've looked up reviews on LPEGs and MPEGs and they have various negative comments because of jamming, and trivial stuff... Anyway thats what i wanna start off with once i get my airsoft license

Well check out Airsoft Australia if you haven't also already... that or check with "Obtaining a Weapon in Australia" on google, and they should give you a pdf file...

This is what we need... the japanese mentality with airsoft

from wikipedia - Due to this reality, most crimes involving a threat of physical violence are often perpetrated with edged weapons, as firearms seen in public are (by default) believed to be toys by the public at large.

If we had this mentality, airsoft would be soo much mroe easier to obtain rawr!!

haha nice, i wanted that too... looks like the chicago typewriter if you've ever played Resident Evil 4...

But like I said the guns I want are much more cheaper, reliable and less maintenance. Probably when I get out of university or something and have a full time job is when I get an high level gas / electric gun.

Airsoft Australia wrote:The Acts require anyone who wishes to own a firearm (including an airsoft replica) to hold a categorical licence (which determines what firearms this person may own/use by each State), a legitimate reason for this person to hold this firearm (as defined under the State’s Firearms Act) and the relevant paperwork from the State police.
All firearms (including airsoft replicas) must have a serial number engraved onto the body.

Very tight, but It would be better then nothing.

Rawr!!

It's too tight, I reckon if you could purchase airsoft guns, the crime rate should decrease with the knowledge of what these guns are...

With all those stories with "policemen shot one kid dead" thats their stupid fault for pretending it's a real gun. It's a great way to deal with stress in my opinion, great exercise cause your pretty much moving non-stop and social life wouldn't be any better.... unless your a f*g who doesn't admit your out then well thats a different story.

Was looking at random youtube videos until I came across this airsoft place in America...

Thought it might be an insight if you listen to it carefully, watching it makes you want to skirmish too.

In my opinion people who pay out airsoft or paintball.... should be told "If you too macho for this stuff go get shot by a real gun"
