Why swing a club if you could build a cannon and achieve three times the distance (and possible if you're willing to setup a rangescheme: consistency/accuracy!)
With just the press of a blowgun!

If your going competitive rather than casual which a lot of players end up doing.

The guns are 1k+, add in gear another 150+, Nitrogen tank + refills, box of paintballs, and if your playing at a paintball alley another 30$ per day of play or so. Very expensive sport.

LOL the Angel A1 is a high end paintball gun... not all paintball guns are $1000  :D

i just picked up a second hand smart parts ION XE for £140 and there are a lot of cheaper guns out there.... but if you want to play tourny instead of just rec-balling... that's when it gets expensive.

Ya I agree 100%,I was just simply showing that a gun can run for over 1,000$. Both sports aren't 1 time purchases sadly. Both will keep running money from your wallet.

now thats where i disagree, golf after u buy clubs and balls should be self sustainable. You find golf balls all the time while u look for yours, and tees are scattered all around tee boxes

Why not get the best of both worlds and shoot golfballs out of a cannon?

I guess I'd personally choose paintball, but I've never played golf before.

Most golf courses around here cost maybe $30/18, but the cost of a day of paintball is typically only dependent on how trigger happy you are. This is because ohio is basically one giant paintball field, and there are plenty of rednecks who will readily join your game.

I just have a crappy walmart gun(triad) and 9 oz tank. If I actually played tournaments I'd just make my own gun if it was allowed. A full auto shotgun would be fun to try (Though I don't think I'd be invited to many backyard games with one).

The fun thing of paintball is to be able to shoot at people, like in a pc game. Scaling it up to golfballs doesnt make it a fun sport I think.

Though when allowed to use it on a golf course...
New idea for spudmeeting: cannon golf! :D

As far as shooting "things" at people goes,..I guess some of you have never been to the driving range.

There is a guy driving around on an "armoured" cart, picking up the balls, it's just expected that you'll try to bounce them off the cage. Good practice too.

I used the same set of McGregor clubs for 15 years, paid $150 used.

Upgraded last summer with a set of Campbell graphites with perimeter weighting. What a difference. They were a "garage sale score" paid $40, came in a nice bag with about 60 golf balls. :D

Life is what you make it, and you don't absolutely need the "latest and greatest" to have a good time.

Despite what some would have you believe.(Advertising companies)

ha, now there is somebody who has things figured out :) although if you're fortunate enough to have the money then why not...

back on topic i personally haven't done either but still think that paintball would be fun. i got a cheap walmart gun(brass eagle) for my birthday one year but there is virtually nowhere around where i live to fill the stupid tanks which is why i haven't played. still waiting for them to make a pump gun that compresses air thus eliminating the need for co2
