ETG Help
is there any amount of aluminum that 75J would vaporize, just enough to get the plasma going and vaporize the water?

A single small strip of aluminum foil should be vaporized by 75J. You will, however, need a very efficient design before you can actually move something out the barrel with that little energy. The average amateur ETG design would be lucky to gently lob an airsoft round out the barrel with 75J input. A very good amateur ETG design would be barely-supersonic with the same projectile and electrical energy.

idk how much energy it will take to vaporize a given amount but i know 2 flash camera capacitors wired in parallel 330volts each at 150uf can vaporize at least a very thin 2.5inch strand so i would just op for camera capacitors and wire them in parallel then maybe you will have enough energy to just vaporize the aluminum straight it would take quite a few tho

Muzzle energy compared to input/bank energy. Not easy to predict it without actually building and firing it.sagthegreat wrote:Srry to bring up an old topic, i really should know better lol... Anyways how do people calculate the efficiency of an ETG
