I have a attic over top of my garage and we dont use it that much, so Iam going to clean it up so I have a place to weld and stuff. I cut a hole in the floor like a trap door thing with a ladder. I wanted to put a fire pole thing in, what kind of metal should I use and should I oil it? Thx

if the floor/walls are wood, i would NOT reccommend using it for welding, better suited for wood/plastic working, if i'm welding, its usually outside or in the shop room at school which is all concrete

Don't oil it! You would slip and fall! Just use steel tubing it is cheap and will work good.

haha fire poles are so cool, my fire department has an elevator, we are too lazy to actually go to a pole and slide down it. Old city fire departments still have them.

You aren't too lazy to use a pole, they are just not allowed anymore because there have been accidents. They have caused more bad than good in the government's eyes.

The only ones allowed are the ones that were build a long long time ago. It's a shame. I love those things. I used a 20 foot pole to go from the top floor of a paintball bunker to the ground. Coolest castle I ever built...

well, i will be in august, i am not 17 until august 28th, but i have my papers sent in, currently they are waiting for a response from the state sherifs department (new york) to make sure im not....an...arsonist... (mwuahahha)

But yea, i will be very soon. I also live in a rich ass town (im the poor kid i have to actaully work for the things i want) and last year we started construction on a firehouse that is nicer then like any in the world. It has glass garage doors, brand new lockers, elevator, like 15 terraces you can go outside on, 3-4 stories high, its amazing, o yea , and it has a lounge (with a bar that has a beer dispenser shaped as a fire extinguisher (copper plated too) and then a party room with another bar, and a dance floor, and then linking the 2 together is a kitchen, a huge one, also the lounge has pool and foozbal.

Also we just got a brand new heavy rescue truck if you know what that is (if you dont its the truck with all the hydrolic equipment, jaws of life, jacks, etc, big ass lights) Which im told was about 600,000 in US dollars, could get more then 1 ferrari with that cash.

Im going in to company one, we have 4 companies, 1 is ladder and heavy rescue and trucky, 2 is engine... water crap, 3 is the other side of the town, 4 is paramedic unit.

So it should be great i cant wait.

P.S , once i can afford a car of my own, yes i do get to have those incredibly badass lights on my car...legally.

Also if i show a badge at the movie theatre i get 2 free passes, monday through thursday only though.
