Well, me and my friend we're bored one night, so we desided the absolutly dismantel my xbox for an insertion of a mod chip. we took out the Cd-drive, hard drive and the mother board. we're thinking about getting a big wooden bow and putting all the guts in it with a tv and make a quote from drac, an "X-boy". heres some pics. i was tempted to rip out the 80mm cooling fan but i resisted, lol. Tell me if you think we will ever get it back together.

Haha, I remember that conversation. Things are a lot funnier over paltalk. I remember"There is no way we are getting this thing back together the same way."
Oh, and even no matter how hard you try to, you're still screwed.

If you have put many computers together, then you can put this back together. It just just like a computer (it IS a computer).
However I coulden't explain how to put together a computer without being with the person. So I suggest looking on Google on how to get it back together.
And why in the heck did you take it all of the way apart? If you coulden't get it back together easielly, you should have bought a mod chip with pogopins that you just screw on. That way you only had to lift out the drives.

The disk drive going out is a common problem. You can buy replacements online.

I leave my xbox top off most the time since i soldered a dual tsop mod so i can switch between 2 bioses, i also cut out part of the casing of the dvd drive and the top of the case so you can see the drive spinning
i also have blue leds in my control ports and a 200gb hdd,

I haven't installed a mod chip in mine (still play a bit of Live), but I have dismantled it. During last summer I painted the X part of the case blue and replaced the regular XBOX jewel with a 'atomic' one, black background.
I also did a friend's, and it looks way better than mine. With his I painted the X Auburn orange, replaced the XBOX jewel with an 'alien' one, and replaced the eject button LEDs with high power blue ones. It looks awesome.

I would be taking the X-Box apart to, only with a hammer instead of screw driver, then I would launch the parts out of my spud gun. X-Box sucks, the only thing thats good is Halo 2 online

Dude, whats wrong with you? X-box is sweet. Oh yeah, to answer a previous question I heard from a friend who went to the state science fair that some wiz kid had reverse engineered 4 x-boxs into a super comp. So to answer your question, everthing in an x-box can be used for a comp.Maybe not in one but to create one.
