lol yea that was a completely seprate gun which he used with the CO2 tank lol.Atlantis wrote:I think he had a seperate pneumatic cannon which used the CO2, why would a flamethrower have a bol.
it never should him firing but it showed it all together lol.
Im pretty sure them showing him screwing the tank into the valve next to the truck was actually them screwing it into the flamethrower to compress the fuel for an obvios reason olready mentioned earlier. hmm It might be time for me to post some pics of mine, unless its against the rules though i can't seem to find something that says i can't. Would a moderator mind answering that one for me?

yeah the pneumatic gun was very confusing the flame thrower looked like the real deal(in the first video)
Iv'e seen the the second water gun video before, I think that guy is an idiot he could have easliy gotten killed by an exploding watergun or carbonmoxide poisong from using that inside a closed garge

i'll post a vid why later.
and just cuz ur sure that the co2 is the cannon doenst mean it is...ur an r-tard 2. that is a penu cannon. if u saa the flame thrower it has a back pack that is the pressure chamber.
srry to flame but ur r-tarding this up.
Uh i think he was talking about a different video zeigs, in which idiots used a watergun and windsheild washer fluid or something to make a flamethrower which they tested in their garage. And im not sure why else your getting mad.

the water gun would not explode.
there is insufficiet (ha ha prob s.p.) air to shoot back in. srry for flamin & misspells. i was in a bad mood and was typing fast. but it isn't dumb to use a squirt gun it is acualy pretty safe, again i'll post a vid why tomarrow somtime. again tho srry for flmaing

The chances of it exploding is high. Gasoline and certain other fuels will destroy the seals and plastics. I know this because i had one corrode on me and no longer work, and another one had flashback occured because the seals corroded and blew up in my hands (ever been covered in burning gasoline?). You seem to claim you have personel experience, but to me it seems you don't. I on the other hand do have personel experience, and by saying it won't explode is inviting many people who have no clue about any of this to try it and put their lives at risk.

pretty safe doesn't mean is safe
i said they shouldn't explode under normal circumstances but i never said which kinda fuel. i would never use gasoline, which would hurt when coverd in it while it is onfire i bet..i use WD40 on mine ( which means i use it) the chances of the flame shooting back into the cannon under NORMAL circumstances for what i know with WD4 and a few other fuels is nill to non IF you make everyhting right and make sure there is no leaks, cracks, ect, within the squirt gun.
i don't really know why you would use any gasoline becuase it is very corrosive.
again i am really sorry for all the flaming
i was in a horrible mood....srry..

The point was like many newbies at this, gas was the only availabe flammable liquid i had at the time and i paid for it, and im sure most people trying this would make the same mistake. Like you said, wd-40 should be fine, but squirt guns are still not desighned for this kind of stuff, and it really is just a dumb idea to use one (and anyways making a flamethrower from scratch is cooler). Also people might be more likely to use gasoline because it still burns when it hits the ground, giving that cool napalm effect.
In short, DON'T TRY THIS, its dangerous (even for those who know what they are doing), so much could go wrong, and this aint exactly legal, if you got caught by a cop, you would be facing major punishment (large fines and jail time).
By the way zeigs, sorry i said you didn't have any experience, i was obviosly wrong; just didn't want something that happened to me happen to someone else.

Propane is not a good flamethrower gas - your fuel runs out, the propane gets squirted across the ignition flame - bad things can happen. Using an inflammable gas is a much safer option.
Now, it's for me to break down the "water gun flamethrower" myths - and believe me, I've heard them all.
Unless you happen to (like me) be a moderator on two different water-gun forums and have read every single idea that people have posted, researched some of the ideas, then deleted the topics because they're too dangerous, and have actually done it yourself in former days, then please don't contest these facts.
Water gun flamethrowers are generally illegal - and at the least they are dangerous.
They will NOT "explode" when used, except in a million to one chance. The air-fuel mix is totally wrong, and the flame can't trace back anyway.
However, they can be melted or damaged by the flames - which is the main cause of injury - people nearby can be hit as the nozzles get melted out of shape by the heat, or the user can suffer nasty burns from similar problems.
99 times out of a hundred they'll work fine, but that 1% of the time has very nasty consequnces. In short, don't piss around with petrol and waterguns.
Deodorant flamethrowers are similarly dangerous (yes, we've all done it). They won't explode, but accidents can happen. Pyromania is fun, but very dangerous.
All of the "experiments" I do these days are well-contained, and highly controlled, and conducted from a safe distance.

I have not checked into it yet, but I am under the impression that flamethrowers are not illegal, you just need to secure a burn permit from your local fire district. In the states, contact your county fire marshall.
wait....
I just called my city fire marshall and found out that flamethrowers are not against the law. He of course expressed concerns that the valves and everything functions properly; he also urged me to be safe with the project. yadda yadda yadda In the city, I would need a burn permit. I wouldn't want to do it inside the city anyway. Outside the city limits one would be subject to county rules and regulations. My county in Idaho farmland does not require a burn permit, but they would appreciate a call in advance to notify of any open burning, such as burning stubble.
My own note: unless you absolutely know what you are doing, do not build one yourself. Don't just do heaps of research online; find someone who has built or operated one before and get their personal take on the matter.
