yeh sorry man. lol. umm im asking if i could mod a sprinkler valve with a flow control on it. theres a big knob thing just where you are ment to drill the hole and when i opened it up there is a small steel rod inside and its in the way. do you think it would work if i just took it out?

Im pretty sure you have to leave in the guide rod for spudgun applications not sure though. But as of right know if you want it to work you need to tap your hole some how with out disturbing the rod, but after looking at the valve the only place that it looks like you can drill a hole is were the knob is. Ya if you can find some way that leaves the guide rod alone you can chop that thing neck as far down as you want.
FFR: Please just like Talonxxx pointed out is please dont type your mind gibirish type something that we can understande TY!
Note to Talonxxx: HOLY (swear word) is trademarked by P22CPG's. (JK)

ive modded valves with guide rods just drill the hole off to one side so it dosent interfear with the spring or guide rod

ive even cut the flow adjuster off and filled the hole with epoxy (i left the guide rod in) and that valve works fine

Im not positive but I think what was just confirmed here was that the rod needs to stay. If more than one person sez that it probably needs to be there and noone contests the popular concensus, it would be widely accepted as the norm.
