Pilgor, do you live in northern Ontario? Because my bus wasn't cancelled, but it never showed up (damned consortium in Sudbury keeeping school open in this weather).
And my school is about 6 hours away at a fast walk, so it'd be over before I got there.

Just last week I found out that my school cannot have any more snow days because we've had our limit, so even if we get 6' of snow we are still expected to show up! This is the Eastern Townships School Board (in Quebec, Canada).

I'm not going to get too specific, because I think that
this might be just a little bit illegal. I live on the largest lake island in the world, and that's as close as I'll say.

That's funny! Canadians canceling school because of freezing rain?
Oh well I don't blame ya'll. Down here we used to cancel school when a flurry happened. Not to often SC coast gets snow.Good memories, we get to school an hour later it starts snowing. Nothing stuck but at least we got to go home early
Enjoy your day off.

A flurry?
We've had a ton of snow days because of snow and a new superintendent. Of course the last one one wouldn't cancel school unless there where two buses on their backs and burning in a ditch.
And then they put this new one in who doesn't know when to cancel school but this is all after I'm graduated....

I havent had many lately I had one a couple months ago but tht is about it.
We also have a new superintendent but she thinks we should go to school no matter what.
the roads were covered with ice a couple weeks ago and school didnt get canceled I dont know if it is true but supposedly one of the buses crashed

thats atleast what my friends told me that day.

That sounds a lot like our current situation. Quite a few buses have ended up crashing or rolling backwards down hills (often both

) because the consortium refuses to cancel buses, and has never closed the school, ever. Bus drivers here have lost their jobs because they refused to drive in extremely dangerous conditions, even though they would be risking their own lives, and the lives of their passengers by driving on those days.

I hate superintendents who are that arrogant....
