Double post, I know, but here's where I'm leaving it for now, at least until I get struck with with inspiration for an environment for these guys.

Well, I see my last piece of work didn't much catch anyone's attention here (well, in terms of responses at least). Suppose art's not really the thing here.

Still, for those that are interested in seeing what I'm doing, a new link for you guys:

Enjoy.

Indeed. It was just an image I was hit by while browsing DeviantArt, based on someone's comment that they liked seeing other people's female characters dressed in sexy attire. At which I immediately pictured Silva (my main female character by a long shot) dressed as such, complaining vigorously at me about it.
The concept was far too amusing to pass up, so pencil met paper.

Given it's the same character who was in my last picture kicking people across the room, her indignation is not exactly surprising. After all, one does not normally find two hundredweight* of killing machine in a corset.

The picture also enjoys the use of an interrobang, a non-standard punctuation mark that probably deserves more use, would you not agree‽

*What, you thought someone with two limbs, several ribs and half her face made of metal was going to be light on her feet?

More work. Now in colour!
Or rather, my attempts at colour.

I've uploaded a lot of stuff to deviantART today to try and bulk out my gallery - forum veterans may have seen some of it before, but probably not have seen all of it, so you might want to browse the gallery.

The most notable piece - and which none of you will have seen - is the redux of the picture I linked above, which I did because I felt I could do a better job of it than I had the first time.

You tell me: http://ragnarokeotw.deviantart.com/art/ ... -119959263

Your artwork is rather good!

You understand the structure of the face and body and it shows in your sculpting and portraiture (Unlike the other students in the advanced art course I'm taking )

I think a combination of engineering ability and artistic talent is only natural. Both require creativity, ingenuity, and in the end you have something to admire, whether it looks pretty or could kill a person.

Nah, what I have is a sense of "CRAP! That doesn't look right!"
I then can't tell why it doesn't look right, and that leads to me having to dick around with it until it finally consents to look good.

Or potentially both...

You have some talent for sure.

I consider my self somewhat of an artist as well. http://jookalot13.deviantart.com/
Some of it is kinda wierd, and some has a fair amount of mature rated content so beware.

If you really want to take your art to another level, practice drawing from life. Still life drawing helps train the brain to think in terms of 3D versus drawing from a photo which teaches copying lines. If you get the chance, I really recommend signing up for life drawing classes.

Moar update!

A comic page I drew back in Nov 2007: http://ragnarokeotw.deviantart.com/art/ ... -123510766

Old though it may be, I believe this is the first web-upload of this image, so you won't have seen it before.

You all draw better than me. I used to draw comics up until 10th grade, and they were as funny as hell (at least to people who got the inside jokes), but the figures were crudely drawn box people. I focused more on storyline and content than drawing. :)

If I can find one, I'll scan it and upload. I think I have "Vladimir vs. Geoff" and "A Soviet's Typical Day" lying around somewhere.
