Katanas are pretty neat, i have held few real ones made from tamahagane...

Hard to make from tamahagane, not from modern steels. Though, id take making one as a challenge. D2 steel blade with mild steel core would make pretty damn epic sword...

jake has a new project. A friction folder!

Right not the handle part is curing, tomorrow ill try to find time to shape the handle and do little more sanding to the blade.

Only had very slow (like 6 hours) epoxy, otherwise i had shaped the handle today...

Handle scales are blue/red acrylic. Stopper pin is 6mm HSS and the pivot will be 5mm HSS. Pins holding the scales together are just 2mm mild steel. Oh and the blade is 0.8% pure carbonsteel.
