I am sure JSR has already researched epoxy based primers.

If not, he could have a polyurethane finish coat like Imron!

Very durable final finish! Especially considering the aviation industry uses it.

It has been in use at least since 1968. That's my first experience with Imron.

Custom engine block made out of cast epoxy.
Lightweight epoxy rims.
Elastic epoxy compound suspension.
and so on....

Then perhaps you could apply your epoxy casting techniques over to molten iron and aluminium? On that note would epoxy even hold up to the high temperatures of molten metals like aluminium and iron?

Thats what i thought I was planning on a mix of sand and epoxy pressed into molds but now i have to think of another option. Perhaps I should just use the traditional sand or lost wax method.
