Ive been doing quite a bit of research on converting a 1/16 Hen Long Radio Controlled airsoft tank to fire .177 bbs via co2. Dont know how I will regulate the co2 psi down from 800 psi to 150 or so??,I'll need a really small reg and some adaptor to accept the 12 gram bulbs.
Being in Australia I dont think I'll be able to import these but I really want to do this!!, like what these guys have done here
Ive been looking into the R/C Warships etc and it seems theres no restrictions of owning co2 powered boats here in any state of australia!.Im wondering if this will allow me to import the parts I need for the conversion?,I seen a link on an Aussie R/C Warship site to a place in the U.S selling the R/C co2 guns regs etchttp://www.bderc.com/index.html
anyone here done this conversion?,any Aussies on here tried,I have the 1/24 R/C airsoft tank good fun but you need the 1/16 to fit all the co2 gear in...............................

Jimmy101 linked to a better diagram for a warship bbmg, it had a solenoid and a tiny blow-forward bolt IIRC, can't find it though (it was a while ago)...
Maybe you could use a fast servo and have it press a longer lever on a bike tyre filler into a shrader on a metal cloud.
Sounds like you're working on something more sophisticated though.
Sounds cool. 8)
LOL you could mount a smoke thing to simulate hits!!!
Maybe have them shoot/ pickup laser instead, connected to smoke/carnage for hits(???)

yeh I know Jimmy's warship feeder thingee,I made it once and worked with a blowgun but whenI used a QEV or reasonable pressure it double or tripple fed but the feeder I have planned is different anyways. Its just getting all the co2 reg,12 gram adaptor and firing solonoid rigged up that I'll have probs with.
Before buying a 1/16 tank Im going to make sure I can somehow get these parts for the co2 .177 conversion or I wont bother as the standard airsoft gun on these tanks are pathetic but still a fun toy I guess and the 1/16 tanks are much bigger/better than the 1/24 one I currently have.
It was after seeing this video that pushed me to wanting to do this conversion! check this sucker in action, how cools that?
I reckon Jack will get a kick out of this video?,it looks like the co2 reg is non adjustable though? maybe the one that fits inside?,its a Palmer PPSP033 but I can find no info on this?. Check out the power this thing shoots at,it could be fake,ie just shooting with a bb rifle instead but theres 12 pages about this on that R/C website link I provided and looks to be possible.

Actually I've been wanting to make something like this for a long time, though myoriginal idea was not to have a realistic tank chassis firing single shots but to take the tank electronics and mount them in a robot-like frame with a strafer mounted.

I agree. If you're using CO2 then you could use a setup similar to BTB's deathray on unregged CO2, and absolutely rip things apart.

That soda can shot at the end of vid was ...
I just remembered one of My favorite targets for airguns with scopes used to be plastic green army men.
You can set them on shoeboxes and cereal boxes too, if you miss it leaves a long streak cut in the paper.
Look like long range shots through the scope too.
That regulator in vid (if it was(?), reminds me of a medical oxygen fitting Maybe(???)...(saw some medical tanks @4500psi somewhere)...Looks heavy...Aluminum one would be better(?).
Or unregged w/airsoft BB's (this is one thing I might prefer Airsoft over BB's for...Maybe 8)

You could also look into using a popoff to regulate the pressure down.
Its small and cheap compared to a reg.
Only downside is that you can't drain the capsule completely.
