New video is online! It was my birthday, and I we drove over to Tobias's place for some fun shooting and a full blown party later on.

The walkback slingshot was presented in an earlier video already, but due to the lack of space it wasn't tested with steel balls before.

This test - requested by many viewers - was now performed. Watch how the team warms up and the reliably hit the hay bail from 44 yards distance!

The heavy steel ball goes in about two feet.

This weapon is highly portable and very powerful.

Also, as requested by the audience, the chest plate "Massacre Master" slingshot is tested on longer distances, too - with nice results.

Joerg, had you been born in another age, I have a feeling the Roman empire would have lasted a couple of decades less :D

A while ago, I was asked by the popular format "Businessweek" to make a "How To" for their series of such articles. My specific task was "How to make weapons from office supplies".

Now an office is paradise for the eager makeshift weapons maker! Lots of heavy, sharp things around. So I started to play a bit - here are the results.

A part of the video - the pencil shooter - was actually published by them, the other weapons have probably been too effective (= scary lawsuit magnets) - they did not use it.

But for my true fans - here is the full "director's cut"!

Someone suggested I try to find ways to weaponize household items. So I looked around, and found the knifes in the kitchen drawers.

While it is too obvious to attach a steak knife to a broom handle, I thought that maybe I can use a few of them to make a fearsome cross between a lawn trimmer and a chainsaw...

Bought a cheapo (30 bucks) battery powered drill on amazon, plus the steak knifes (one Euro a pop). Attached them to a round wood disk, then found the best transmission (1:2).

I will now experiment with the angles of the knifes, slant them back a bit so they slice rather than poke. And maybe I can find a faster drill. But this looks (and feels) amazing!

brilliant :D I have visions of you wielding it chasing cows hehe

One thing though, it's odd that you went for a smaller pulley on the knives. I would have put the smaller one on the drill, less speed but MOAR POWAH!

You might have said something about that but I'm at work so watched it on mute.

I tried a different transmission (I even show the alternative wheel in the video), but the power all comes from the speed of the rotating mass.

Remember it is powered by a puny little battery drill. I tried my 400 Euro 240 V drill... scary, scary, scary. I did not dare revving it up to the max.

I see what you mean, it might take a little longer to spin up to full rpm but ultimately the faster spin is what gives it its "bite".
