COLORS magazine challenged me to make weapons out of trash.

Here is my take:

Interesting and educational :)

I can't help but wonder who would win in a battle between Joerg and Mcgyver...

Now that the actor who played McGyver is 62, I think my chances would be fairly good :)

Note that the actor that played McGyver (Michael Dean Anderson) also went on several other planets and fought numerous other species.

On a more related note, nice stuff as always Joerg!!

I have been shooting quite a bit of crazy ammo these last four years. But there are still a few challenges left. One of these much asked for weapons is a slingshot crossbow that can shoot pointy, dangerous throwing knifes with force.

Now a throwing knife isn't very well suited for beeing fired from a crossbow. The bottom heavy knifes are supposed to spin around in the throw, which requires a ton of practice. But to be shot straight from a crossbow requires a specifically designed guiding system.

The simple, but effective weapon presented in this video uses four flat aluminum rods as guides for the knife, which works quite well. Three layers of Thera Band Gold drive the blades far faster than any human beeing could throw them - and with serious accuracy.

There is room for enhancements, especially the looks can be much improved. But for the 8 hours I spent on it so far, I am fairly pleased.

As a bonus, the second "Zodiac sign" prize slingshot is presented, made from two different types of wood, and featuring twin forks.

Always great works of engineering from you Joerg, keep it up. This episode was rather comical which was very fitting considering your ammo choice and launcher design. Well done.

'zis wasn't ment to be serious but I like it anyway'

The 28mm D.I.L.D.O. ammo flies straight for about 5 to 7 meters, then it tumbles. However if you take the battery out, it flies very stable as it is front heavy then.

With the steel reinforced stake, it is very accurate.

Oh dear lord... I've heard of "shooting your load" but this is a bit extreme!

well the projectiles do penetrate the gelatin block really well

shame to admitt but I've never disasembled a dildo - I assume there is an excentric mass mounted on the shaft of an electric motor, JSR is that right ?

anyway what if the mass was perfectly balanced and acted as a gyro? how fast would it have to spin or how heavy it would have to be to stabilise an inherently instable projectile??
