Well written, but unfortunately your target audience's reaction is most likely to be tl;dr

Hahahaha, nice jack. I like it.

And I figure I'll lose some people's attention. I wrote it for myself mostly. I had a somewhat frustrating day at work and decided to write a rant, then decided I might as well try to make it humorous and somewhat useful.

That's quite an informative rant, but it's way too long even for somebody like me. I only read halfway through it. Maybe I'll read the rest later...

Well, what can I say, it looks like a piston valve launcher. :P

Any details? Piston materials, operating pressure?

EDIT: One second, jack, one forking second.

Aaaargh! you're horrible! very usefull however :D

piston material: epoxy! filled aluminium tubing with bicycle inner tire sealing face

Barrel: 6 mm ID 8 mm OD aluminium tubing, partially sleeved with 8 mm ID 10 mm OD aluminium tubing.

an internal supressor around the barrel, to make the barrel stronger, and maybe reduce noise.

Chamber : copper, 10 mm ID 12 mm OD, 22 cm long

Depending on your operating pressure, I would go for plumbing gasketing (the red rubber sheeting). Of course, insane pressures call for something else entirely, but I note you still haven't stated the operating pressure.

operating pressure: as high as possible :)

(I want to keep al my fingers on, however)

i'll turn a nice piston out of a piece of teflon, if I can get my hands on it.
To get a nice seal, would a cone shape be practical?

Also, could a piece of HDPE replace the teflon?

Well, the whole piston doesn't need to be teflon, just the sealing face, and I do believe they sell teflon washers. No sense in making the whole piston out of teflon, unless you like the low-friction aspect.

At higher pressures, pretty much any softer plastic could be used, but durability is a concern.

Also, you'll have to put in a little more work towards getting sealing face on the end of the barrel/pipe as square and smooth as possible.

Pay no attention to that grumpy efficiency Nazi behind the curtain ;) You probably wouldn't notice the difference in performance from my suggested mods without a chrony, and yay for epoxy and integral suppressor :D

I'm making two of these in a while.

The guns will be painted matte black.

Looks good, I presume the diagram shows the hammer in both cocked and fired positions?
