Question for the airsofters on here.

I recently obtained a M60E4 made by A&K, and I have a slight problem with it. Well a big problem. The gearbox is destroyed. My question is, is it possible to use a M249 gear box in the M60? I know its not the same, and I won't be able to use the ROF adjustment knob, but that's not a big deal. I am more concerned about getting it up and running again. I have a spare M249 gearbox being shipped right now, so I would like to find out before it gets here so I can sell it if it won't work. Thanks for the help.

I've seen those pictures before Jack, and had the same thoughts. I will try to make it fit. I won the gearbox anyways, so any money I earn off it will be entirely gaining money, rather than recovering.

couldn't you use the money from the m249 gearbox to buy a new m60e4 gearbox?

That's what I said I would do if it doesn't work, but since I got the M249 gearbox free, why not just go ahead and use it if it will fit? I'm not worried about using the Mosfet, because its really not all that great. I used an original M60E4 last saturday, and the ROF adjustment really sucks.

You should look up different gearbox versions and determined which one is yours. Some have different internals and externals, so while you might be able to mod it to fit, you will need different internals so it won't save you in the long run.

I already know which one is the version needed, its a V2/V3 gearbox. Nothing like whats in an M4 though. The gearbox I am getting looks like the first picture Jack posted, and the original was supposed to look like the second picture he posted.
