New here and thought I'd show ya-all what I'm working on. This is my airsoft tank. I am making a airsoft vortex gun for it and I am modding the main gun to shoot the 2" vortex footballs. Right now it just shoots paintballs out the main gun. Looks like there is a lot of good info here, I just wish I had found this site sooner.
A pic and a few videos for your entertainment.........

gday,
haha verry nice, I found another one of you guys, check out Rctankcombat.com/tanks/ i havnt built one of that size, but I did make a 1.2m long abrams M1A2 tank, just finishing the body work. is is a pretty good site, I came here looking to make a paintball gun for my tank ended up getting distracted and made a combustion and 6mm semi auto instead

Hey thanks guys.
The base is a home made steel frame. I used a golf cart rear-end and the engine from a 4-wheeler. The body is plywood and the tracks are homemade from conveyor belt and wood blocks. Not all my original ideas. Most are from a scaled tank forum, Scaledtanks.com. Over there we are not allowed to discuss air cannons and such, that's how I ended up over here.
A couple of build photos............

The tank turns by skid steering. It uses a open differential, just apply the brake to one side and the other side will keep going. It's a very simple system but it won't allow a neutral turn ( one track forward while the other turns backward) like modern tanks. Which kind of bums me out.......
