New Spudfiles Member Map?

So... locked the thread without actually answering the question.
The link at the link is dead. Scroll down through 4 pages and there is another link, which is alive but appears to be at its limit of 500 locations. At least, I can't get it to add another person.
Anyone want to make a new member map that isn't DOA?
edit by moderator: topic title changed

About as hard as filling out their location in their profile page!

Yep. then all you have to do is scroll through the 10,164 (

) member list to find the three that are near you.

Yes, as if we have 10,000 active members.
When ever I try to reply to a posting it is always nice to know where about they are from so an appropriate reply can be made. Just one click and you can find out without having to refer to any thread about locations and then have to know their name. Assuming that they at least make the effort.
If they can post it here then they could at least do it in their profile.

Maybe everyone should put their location in their sig? like
Location: blablablab
so its at the bottom of each of their posts?

What if new members do not have a sig yet?
Requires a certain amount of spud bux.
They will always have their profile.

500 locations sounds like a bit much, didn't think that many would have added themselves. I can't even find the link you're talking about but if you say it has an error, I believe you
Anyway, I locked jsefcik's topic for these two reasons:
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/what-st ... t8731.html
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/where-a ... 12433.html
The latter of which is a sticky with near-identical title to jsefcik's topic.
I will leave this thread open so someone can organise a map because, as you have pointed out, they're more practical when trying to find people close-by.

How hard is it for you to search or look at the damn sticky's located at the top of each section? Jimmy's topic has a different intention to the one you had; we already have topics for what you requested. The member map does appear to be down so jimmy's topic (this one) will be for that.
edit: and people should also make sure their location is accurate in their profile unless they do not wish to disclose their location; in which case they should say so rather than leave it blank unless they're JSR

Excuse me, my location is clearly stated in my profile ;P
