I almost don't want to paint these!
woohoo! got my McMaster order in yesterday, dry-fit the parts last night.

I can see why you dont want to paint them they already look great.
My only complaint is that the chamber seems kind of small for that size barrel I would recomend something like a 3/4in barrel so you get some respectable velocity.

despite the high-pressure capable chamber, these rigs aren't for damage - they're for launching rockets at paintball games. copper for the chamber's just the lightest/cheapest option for me right now. PVC chambers not allowed.
the projectiles are 32g foam rockets at 160 fps max (for now - the local field is evaluating the max speed for this season - in other words, they're gonna shoot someone (volunteer(s)) at different speeds & stop when they cry... j/k you get the point...) some fields limit at 140, others 230. they've decided on 160 for the 1st scenario game this season.
if i can go higher later, i'll couple/sweat on more length...
oh yeah, and i definitely will be painting one of them - the one i'll be playing with. and, - don't smack me now - but i'll be painting the clear PVC barrel, too (i'll leave a strip along the side unpainted to see inside because i can never remember if i have one loaded or not!). i should have ~28" of it left over for later projects...
p.s. i did start to think about what V's i can get with a 1/2" barrel on it..!
p.p.s. oh yeah, i attached the GGDT model to the top post. it shows i should get the velocitiy i'm looking for at the pressure i want to run (90 psi with room to adjust up to 110psi - my self-imposed max). the GGDT model was calibrated with the prototype i mentioned in the top post.

Peeto , check out the new Tippmann bottomline regulators at http://www.firstcallpaintball.com/pages ... tml...They are for air or CO2 and regulate 0-850 psi.......They are very small and compact and you can buy 5 0f them for the price of one stabilizer......I just ordered 4 of them .

Oh okay but wouldnt you do better with a semi auto paintball gun then that but Im surprised your even allowed it at all. bigbob - i'll have my semi- marker too the launchers are used for taking out tanks, which are usually immune to regular paintball fire, or bunkers. if the targets are hit in the right place, the refs take the structure or tank out of play. the video i made shooting the cabbage patch doll was at about 160 fps if i remember right...

The 160 fps is for LAW type launchers only, because the projectiles are fired on a horizontal plane and can accidently hit someone at close range and knock their paintball mask off during play......The velocity allowed for mortars and artillary cannons on my field is much higher because they are fired at a 45 degree angle and there is no risk of knocking a players mask off unless the are basically looking down the barrel of the mortar during the game......The types of launchers and velocities for launchers are determined by the insurance companies , and not the field owners.

thank yoyu - it's taking me a while to pull out all my soldering stuff & get down to fitting it together - gonna sweat the chamber right now & then fit together to check for leaks (and make sure my trigger assy. works).
the regulator is a Palmers Stabilizer. uit was free! no kidding a local paintball player had it xtra & gave it to me alnog with some other stuff - worked out great though because later turned out i had a different smaller low pressure regulator he was interested in so i gave that to him...
it's a "male" Stabilzer - if i were to buy another one, though, i'd get the "Female" Stabilizer with a LP Spring Kit ($79 + $10).
then you'd end up with a great (arguably the best) 0-300psi CO2 expansion chamber/regulator that screws right onto any readily available CO2 bottle.
