ok so i have built a cannon that will have a steady stream of air from a compressor through a regulator. a paintball hopper will feed paintballs to the barrel. i had modified a sprinkler valve but it would honk. it was the camo green one most people use but the system of pressurinzing above the diaphram is fairly complex. i was wondering if i used a rainbird cp 100 if the simple hole to pressure above the diaphram would help solve this problem. i am only pressurizing to 60 psi max

another problem is after i pressuize (by setting the pressure really low then building up, backing off when it honks) when i fire the cap to the hopper pops open any solution to this problem?

also what are spud bux
and where can they be spent

thanks

ps im new here and do not fully understand all your acronyms

You are going to need some sort of loading system. Do a search here for "Blow Forward". You should get some good information, especially Clide's 'Slider'. Since you are obviously a paintballer, you already know chopping paint may be an issue.

i actually have never touched a paintball gun in my life. i was thinking of staying with my hopper but drilling holes in it for air to escape without popping the lid open. my real problem is the valve.

I don't know but I think you will olny get a stream of air out of the valve instead of burst also I think you will have somthing like the vogt pattern.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

ok i realized i did a bad job explaining how this works. so i will wait until the tank reaches 60 psi until i fire. while the tank fills the hopper will drop 3 paintballs into the barrel. the problem is i set my regulator to 60psi and open the ball valve letting air into the tank the modded sprinkler valve honks. this sprinkler valve has a pretty advanced method of pressurizing above the diaphram and i was wondering of a rainbird cp 100 which just uses a small hole to pressurize above the diaphram would eliminate the honking

what you need is a blow forward setup. that would give you the semi-auto that would work(sprinkler valve might not work for semi). also if made correctly it would also stop the lid from popping open.
