A 1.5" sprinkler valve would cost a fair amount more then the 1".

You could make a co-axial, where the barrel is inside the chamber.

4" chamber 3' long, with a 4' or 5' 2" barrel.

You will have to make a piston, but that's not to difficult and you will get a huge performance increase.

That's a nice twist on a conventional design, especially with the digital DP.

I have to say the power isn't phenomenal, but I suppose you can't get too powerful or you'll run a severe risk of injuring someone.

it's a lot more powerful when we unscrew the 3" barrel and screw on the 1" barrel.. SSSSHhhhh.. don't tell my boss..

Just an idea. Why don't you convince your CO that you need to drop by a scenario game down south to "check out simulator ideas".I guarantee that a few of the scenario teams down here will blow your socks off with the simulator stuff(not literally).The Camp Blanding, FL games attract quite a few exotic paintball weapons.


On another note.What does the Army use to simulate a flash bang in training?My scenario team wants me to come up with a few "poppers" for a tactical tournament.The best I could come up with was a 209 primer in a tube.Needless to say my ears were ringing for a half hour after that initial firing.

Well, if your ears were ringing for 30 minutes after, you can tell that at least the "bang" component worked.

Yes it did.I was in my shop about 100 ft. away from my house.When I popped that thing off. Everyone in the house came running out wondering who had the shotgun.

Very good job and nice to see a practical application, however there is one minor niggle:

we use an oxygen bottle to fill it because it is easier while we are in the field...

I would strongly advise against this due to the dangers of detonation.

As an example, this Theoben air rifle was filled with oxygen instead of compressed air. Here's the aftermath:

i think its great to see this kind of collaborative thinking from a whole bunch of ppl going twards helpin our guys out=] and iv had a lot of fun with these anti tank pnuematics for paintball senarios, i always get stared down by every one cause they got their small ball valve guns, and i come out with a semi auto piston valve laucher

I was wondering when someone was going to mention that, i thought the same thing but was not sure that the pressure would cause the Oxygen to detonate (one would have to be using some kind of Petroleum lubricant though, is this right?)
At least Dan the man wears a skid lid and goggles i spose.

Of course it needs something to oxidise with and some sort of spark to ignite, so detionation is a lot less likely in a PVC launcher than a metal hammer-valved PCP, but I thought I'd mention it for completeness' sake.

now people cant say that spudders are delinquent kids since the US forces gather intel from us perhaps some goverment funding is in order?

Dan my man like people have said, chuck the smaller diameter barrel on it make it about a foot and a half longer and I'd keep the chamber the same size.

and i allso agree that you should keep this realativly simple, so a longer barrel should surfice
