i'm interesting in achieving a very high velocity for a pneumatic setup, i was thinking something like 1000+fps
anyone who has done some real powerful guns that can break this speed, could you just like say valve, material, projectile, pressure, or even gas that sort of thing

FYI: He is doing a project to break reach mach 2 with helium and a simple 1.5 inch ball falve made to withstand 4500 pressure i believe. He is only using heluim pressure.

Search dude just search a hour or two of looking would give you the answer.seriously piston valve aero dynamic projectile and helium would easily give you that but you could get info that you need to know in a couple of hours in detail sheesh.

You could get that muzzle velocity with a pretty basic co-axial 'sniper' that fires .12g BB's at about 130psi.

If you want to go larger, I suggest a piston valve and a lighter gas then air.

Don't ask, search.

Maybe he's a scientist, that needs info for a project and decided to come here, but this smells like plain old noob bravoure to me..

I've fired a buckshot of airsoft rounds at ~1000fps with a burst disk cannon, and a golfball at about 900 fps with the same launcher.

The 2200psi helium gun is still theory, because I would need to get the parts and the funds. It will likely be my project next summer if all goes well. Right now, I'm more interested in getting the burst disk cannon working and posted.

If the helium gun does happen, it should be able to break Mach 2 at full power with <10 gram projectiles, which would likely be some sort of record for Spudfiles.

I will finish by agreeing with the others that you could have found several 1000+ fps launchers simply by searching.

i searched for 1000 fps and various others before posting but mostly nonsense came up
i am not a noob, i'm an "experienced hacker"
but seriously i have experience in a shop
