Joining PVC with Hot Glue

i have been a fan of the hotglue gun since i made my longshot but i am making a pneumatic now and i have no pvc glue so i was wondering wud it be any good for puting together pipes and elbows and that and can anyone tell me the PSI rating of it??

If you don't all ready know you can look up 'solvent welding' in the Wiki. It's the only way to go when building a PVC pneumatic cannon.

it is good for 1psi.. mabe 2psi if you use locking screws

that is one of the troubles here in Norway.. you can't get pressure rated PVC and no glue so i have to use ruber gaskets and screws (combustions only)

Wow this one serious misconception
Im going to have to disagree with spudfarm about the pressure it will hold.
I say it will hold something like 20psi, with it leaking like crazy at anywhere above 5psi.
But if you added screws I say it would hold 200psi or so before bowing off, athough the presssure would leak through the hot glue like nuts.
If you dont want to use pvc cement and primer then epoxy is acceptable at pressures 120psi and below.

i have tryed using epoxy before and its hopeless or it might be becouse it was very old stuff. i am useing the snap-fit non glue elbows and that anyhow the glues just there to make me feel safe so 20psi you say.

i am trying the hotglue gun with just stander elbows and T`s i will tell you what happens =]

And wait till JSR(epoxy god) hears that you called epoxy pointless.
Umm and dont just try it, have you ignored what every single person in this thread has said.
Go to some hardware store and buy some pvc cement and primer and some pressure rated "normal" fittings.

there fittings that im talking about there the ones that cost about 10 times more then normal ones and have small blades inside to stop them coming off and also there are screw on and they have small rubber O rings in.

so how they work the more you tighten the screw the more the blades go into the pipe and will not come off.

I think that when he says "blades" he really means threads, which would mean that he has threaded pipes and fittings, but I have never seen threaded PVC, except for a few sch. 80 fittings and small pipes.
