New Coaxial Piston Cannon

This is my second cannon actually submitted to the site, however it is one of many that I have built. It is a coaxial piston cannon with a 2'' chamber and 1/2'' barrel and seals like a dream using a 1.5'' end cap and a spring. I will soon post pictures of the inside because I machined the barrel stabilizer and I am proud of it lol. The pilot valve is a 1'' sprinkler valve thats modded and I will soon be putting two handles on it made out of 2'' tees and dropping a hose down from the sprinkler valve so i can put the blowgun on one of the handles. I would eventually love to get some regulated co2 onboard this baby but dont have enough money :). I have only taken it up to 80 psi and it does not leak one bit and I have only shot AA batteries because I cant think or find any other ammo right now. Let me know what you think and please please make any suggestions. And the video is also pretty cool. Questions welcome!

I like the co-ax!

Lot's of differential to open the piston quickly, and lots of pilot valve flow to avoid recompression. :)

Personally, I'd ditch the spring, you don't need it.

But hey, it seems to work well, and if you're happy with it, why would you care what I think? :)

Good job!

Nice clean cannon, I haven't seen a coaxial thats filled from the chamber side before. So what's with the video anyways, 1:10 of you lighting something on fire, then 2 minutes of slow motion burning......what did you even shoot at?

It's written in the video, a jar full of gasoline. Though I agree, half naked youngsters in slow motion are of considerably less interest to the majority of this forum than explosions, I would have edited the first bit out personally.

As to the cannon, good job, and more damage!

Ah didn't notice it in the corner in tiny front combined with red/green colorblindness, way to look out for the viewer. Try cutting open a can of Sterno, lighting that and shooting it, I wonder if you'll get a more "jet" like flame following the projectile. You should add a scope and use it for Nerf darts, just don'y hurt anyone.

P.S. Clothes are great protection against burns.

Nice cannon I'm not usually a fan of co ax's. How about a better damage video. Shooting a glass jar doesn't show much. It's like demonstrating the force of a missile by shooting through paper. Perhaps some plywood.

BTW
Whats up with the whole video in slo mo. you should just get the shot next time.

I think its really nice and has awsome power you should go to 150 depending on the pressure rating on your sprinkler valve.

im starting to see more people use a sprinkler valve as a pilot. i think the first one i saw was that mini piston gun v2
